Thread organization and plugins reach stable Codex
Codex 0.146 stabilizes session naming, pinning, side conversations, Agent Plugins, paginated forks, remote Code Mode, executor skills, broader proxy routing, and more reliable MCP refreshes.
Codex 0.146 turns the last prerelease cycle into a stable milestone. Session naming, pinning, and persistent side conversations make it easier to organize ongoing terminal work without treating every branch as a disposable thread.
Plugin support also moves forward: Agent Plugin manifests, workspace publishing, and additional marketplace sources for Amazon Bedrock and Claude Code are included in the stable release.
Thread forks can now load paginated history and remain temporary when a client does not want them in the normal thread list. Remote Code Mode hosts, compatible standalone web search, and executor-provided skills also join the stable surface.
The release applies configured proxy routes across more authentication, plugin, MCP, remote execution, WebSocket, redirect, and local-provider paths. MCP connections and Apps tools refresh more selectively when authentication or configuration changes.
Conversation recovery retains more user input, final responses, failure details, timestamps, and approval state. Terminal responsiveness, Windows process handling, and skill-catalog behavior under tight context budgets also receive broad fixes.
Release context: rust-v0.146.0 is the stable successor to rust-v0.145.0. Its official release notes group the full cycle into new features, fixes, documentation, and release infrastructure work.
